At AssistU Care and Support Services, we understand the profound impact trauma can have on a person’s development, brain function, and ability to form trusting connections and relationships.
We recognise how trauma can shape the way individuals perceive the world and interact with others.
Many people with a disability have experienced some form of trauma. A lack of understanding of trauma and its impact on a person can lead to misinterpretations of behaviour, hinder progress or healing, strain relationships, and cause shame or further emotional distress.
Bridie and Sally throughout their professional journey have completed training and are Trust-Based-Relational-Intervention® (TBRI) Practitioners. This allows an opportunity to provide training of this model to others.
Abigail, Bridie and Sally have a combine 30 years experience.
We have experience working with complex and challenging Participants who exhibit various behaviours. To us, all behaviour is communication, and this perspective allows us to understand the underlying needs, emotions, or experiences driving those behaviours.
We understand that supporting a participant often involves assisting the entire family, which is why we collaborate closely with other professionals to ensure the best possible care and outcomes for everyone involved.
Our understanding of the Out of Home Care sector and NDIS system
Our understanding of the Out of Home Care sector and the NDIS system allows us to navigate both frameworks, ensuring that Participants receive tailored, holistic support that meets their unique needs. We are committed to coordinating with all relevant stakeholders and agencies to provide seamless, effective care and empower individuals to achieve their goals.
To be brave, bold and do things differently.
